BUSINESS TIMELINE
SUSTAINABILITY AT THE HEART
I am committed to growing a sustainable, earth friendly small business, using slow and more traditional practices. Creating in harmony with the environment is truly a passion of mine and is fundamental to all living futures. I believe everyone should be aware of their impact on the environment and take as much action in their capacity to reduce and prevent that impact. We are all responsible for the health of our home, bodies, communities, and businesses.
I am dedicated to constantly learning how to further align my daily practices and crafts with the health of the earth. Reducing, reusing, recycling, and limiting usage whenever possible. I aim to provide you with the best products and services for your body, the community, and our planet.
Since the beginning of this business in early 2019, every single item sold equals a donation which plants one tree to an organization called Trees For The Future.
"Planting trees provides families with more than just food. It provides income, empowerment, unity, leadership, education and even saves lives. When we can teach people to value themselves and their environment, they see amazing improvements in their standard of living." ~ Trees For The Future
TIMELINE
2019 - Originally named “Candi Elf’s Collection,” I started this business in early 2019. Tree donations and sustainability were a priority from the beginning. Any leftover craft supplies; like string, paper, and fabrics are collected and repurposed or recycled.
2020 - I started recycling all the plastics consumed by my home. Collecting any plastic and foil-like materials such as; packaging, old products, water bottles, and other materials that take years to decompose! I took all of these collected materials and stuffed them into the water bottles with the goal to use them as building supplies for my dream cob house in the future! (on a break since mid 2022 until further notice)
2021 - Only natural yarns, like cotton, wool, and hemp, moving forward! I started crocheting with a huge collection of mostly gifted acrylic yarn, a plastic-based material. I am no longer buying acrylic yarn and acrylic products will only be available until this collection is completely gone.
May of 2021 - I got rid of all of my 100% newly made plastic products and started collaborating with a Gold Certified Green Business that produced fabrics that contain 84% - 92% post consumer recycled waste and eco friendly inks. My Liquid Light clothing line is now made and hand sewn in the USA on demand.
February of 2023 - No more plastic fashion, recycled or not! I removed entire product lines, because I wanted to fully focus on natural materials and more traditional crafting practices.
2025 - Business rebrand. I changed my business name to Candi Elfstrom and introduced new services, like holistic coaching, widening my brand to represent my passion for intentional crafting and living.
